Mammoth Mountain App Reviews

Love it, but...

The app is incredible, but definitely still has a few bugs to work out, especially in real time status updates. Great strides though! Cant wait to see what is next from mammoth.

Mr.

Fix the bugs. Friend locator, Check in and Run Tracker did not function.

Solid app, has what I need when Im on the mountain.

No issues with the app this season. Tracking in the background consumes very little battery. If it had live web cams and radar for the snowy/windy days I would rate it a five.

Great watching snow reports

And being able to do nothing because I live in the infernal Summer plane known as LA

Needs some work. Wont work w/ iPhone 4s

This years version is much better. Doesnt burn battery as much.

Solid but with some annoyances

Im a NY-based skier and downloaded this app for my vacation. Its almost identical to the app I have for Hunter Mountain. The snow reports are good, and the tracking feature works well. I could do without the blue status bar indicating that the app is using my location; I already know that and it interferes with the display of my phone. The battery drainage didnt seem to be as significant to me as others indicated, but I have a backup pack. Finally, I wish it would stop asking me to turn on "beacon", whatever that is. Overall, its decent but needs some refinement to the UI and notifications.

Good information.

Ive been using this app for a while now and like the information that is available. Weather reports and lift status are great. Web cams are good too. Overall satisfied.

Bad... Major downgrade

The resorts tapped app was way more user friendly. Trail map is horrible. As u zoom in cannot see runs names and is blurry.

Works well

Great tracking, updates on lifts, whether, etc.... Would like the web cams to be real-time.

Wont record

I used this app all season and it worked great! But this update has made it so it wont record. Ive had to keep turning it back on at the top of each run, but it closes and doesnt record any of the runs.

Reliable tracker and information!

Ive used the app all season and its worked great. Use it for daily and season tracking, lift status, weather reports and more. My favorite feature is the one I havent used - the red cross in the upper left corner that calls the Mammoth Mtn. Emergency Hotline. Good app!

Love the Mountain! Love the app!

Awesome!

Record your fun at Mammoth

There are two sections I used constantly this season: reports that instantly showed me snow fall totals and weather forecasts and the tracker. I especially like the tracker, its like a Garmin for skiing. Top speed, linear distance and vertical footage are fun to compare with my friends and family.

Slow

Maps and reports are good but app is slow and locks up on my iPhone 4. Tracking is completely useless. Update: works better on new 6S. Facebook integration still not great. Find friends also not very useful. Lift status and maps are most useful features.

Its waaaayyy coooooo

Like for sure dude. Da app records my super speeds and epic biffs. Also you can buy stuff apparently. Super chilz!

Mammoth Mountain is our preferred Mountain

We live in LA so Mammoth Mountain is relatively close to us. Even though it takes us 4-1/2 hours to get there we will gladly drive to Mammoth for a quick weekend trip rather than go to Big Bear, which is only 2 hours away from us. Not only is the mountain so much larger, with much longer runs. But the drive home on Sunday is easy. Driving back from Big Bear on a Sunday can take as long or longer than the drive back from Mammoth takes. I would rather head home on Monday than deal with that headache to be honest. If you love the mountains like I do you will enjoy yourself no matter which mountain you decide to go too. But if you need steep runs then Mammoth is the better option of the two.

Great way to keep up

I am a summer and off season visitor. I like to check for deals and off season events. I also like to the Mammoth cams.
